What Can I Do if I Can't Find a Job?

Many people ask themselves this question every day. I have also heard, Should I look for a part time job while I find a "real" job?

It is very difficult to overcome the crisis mode when we get slapped in the face with the reality that we have No Income to pay our bills or debts. Our crisis is even greater when we have family and kids that don't understand what is going on.

Our first reaction is,what am I going to do? That is a smart question, because the future is uncertain and we don't know when our situation is going to improve. On top of that there’s nothing like a bad economy to make you more honest with yourself. It 's not only the fact that you are jobless but also that the economy is in bad shape. Change is difficult, and career change is especially scary. But in this economy, some people will find that not changing is more risky than changing.

What are the steps that we have to take to solve this situation tentatively? We need to quickly get our lives on track and find some sort of direction. The first thing you have to do is:

1. Get the right mindset - think about what you can do, not about what you can't do. Be proactive. Start planning so you can take the steps toward your future goals. Think outside of the box. Make a list of the ideal jobs for you and make a list of your skills and the options that you have in case you don't find the job you want.

What about a new career? What about learning new skills? What about getting training in other areas? What will happen if the economy doesn't improve or what will happen if you don't find the job that you are looking for? Will you have to take a part time job? What about two part time jobs? You will do anything to boost your income and your cash reserves. Sometimes these options are not options for many reasons in our lives.

2. Get your priorities in order. Get real, GET A PLAN

A. Start with an assessment of your budget

* Review your monthly budget

* Ask yourself,what costs can I reduce right away?

* How much will I need monthly?

B. Make an assessment of your career, knowledge and skills.

* What type of jobs would you like to apply for?

* What do I want to change in my future career?

* What are the possibilities of getting what I want?

* What are the possibilities of earning what I need?

* Will I need to take a second job?

* What type of job would I like to consider as a

second option?

* Be creative, Re-Invent yourself !

How long will it take before you get a new position? I have been unemployed for two years and I have been through this process. The worse part of it is that you have no control of the process. You really depend on other people to make the decisions that will benefit you. These are the moments in life that make you think about having your own source of income. That's why I decided to make a 360 and take control of my life. I wanted to make sure that this was not going to happen to me again and you can also make that decision before it's too late.

Don't lose hope. You can get started learning how to develop your own business. Think about it, "your own business" that sounds expensive. If I try to get a franchise, I will have to pay probably millions. But a business online will not cost even $300.00 to start. That is not much. Remember you need to invest money to make money.

There is a lot of information out there about how to make money from home that will take you no where. The fact is that there is so much fraud that people don't even consider that option. But, the truth is that developing your own business online is a viable option but you have to learn how to do it right. It won't happen instantly and you have to be able to dedicate time and effort. After all, it's your own business and you need to learn how to operate it. After some time it will be up and running and even if you get a job it will be the second source of income that we always wanted. Why not dedicate this time to construct something that will benefit your future life and will give you a sense of direction in your current situation?
